Hi, I’m Robin
My journey has always been driven by a deep curiosity about the mind-body connection and a desire to understand how we as humans heal, grow and thrive. With a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy, a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, a Diploma in Positive Psychology and a Certification in Feminine Embodiment Coaching, I bring a unique, integrative approach to somatic coaching and embodied healing.
As a physiotherapist, somatic embodiment coach and therapeutic yoga teacher, my work is informed by postgraduate training in trauma response, nervous system education and positive psychology. Blending these disciplines, I support individuals to deepen their internal awareness (interoception), regulate their nervous system and process emotions in a trauma-sensitive way.
My approach is both practical and transformative, offering tools to help you reconnect with your body, cultivate resilience and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and self-trust.
I am a life-long learner and am always studying, refining and practicing what I’m learning.
My Story
Despite my fascination with the body, in my earlier days I treated my body like a machine, demanding high performance with very little rest and recovery. I got frustrated when it wasn’t working the way I wanted it to and angry when I got injured. I discovered that knowledge can be both a gift and a challenge. I was knowledgeable and hyper-aware of certain sensations, which meant I was almost always focusing on what was ‘wrong’. I was quick to jump into treatment, both self-administered and from other health professionals and very slow, if not totally avoidant, of first being with the sensations and messages from my body. I assumed pain meant something needed to be fixed rather than first listened to and met with compassion.
After struggling with chronic pain from several major injuries, feeling beleaguered by auto-immune disease and adenomysosis, and burning out, I wanted a different relationship with my body. One that was less clinical and more of a partnership. I wanted to love and appreciate my body and stop constantly trying to ‘fix’ her. I found it exhausting to constantly analyse and attempt to figure out what was wrong, how to fix it and how to heal all the symptoms.
So my heart goes out to those struggling with chronic pain and illness, to those who feel let down and even betrayed by their bodies. I get it, I’ve been there. It sucks. Maybe it’s not chronic pain but a pervasive sense of shame around your body. I get that too. We live in a society that profits from us feeling disconnected and dissatisfied with our bodies. But I learned that we don’t have to play that game. We can befriend our bodies and love the skin we’re in. So that’s my deepest desire, that you experience relief and true healing - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is why I feel so honoured to do this work.
Maybe you can relate. So if you feel stuck, discouraged, and are sick of feeling exhausted all the time, I understand. If you too want a different relationship with your body, or just a sense of relief and release, know that it is possible. Whatever your story please know that you can learn to meet your body with compassion and curiosity and listen to its deep wisdom. When we turn inward toward the sensations and feelings we've been suppressing, afraid of, the ones we’ve been avoiding or just unaware of, that’s when the transformation begins.
